VICKY CALAVIA


She is a member of the Spanish Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences, she is a screenwriter, director, and producer of documentaries such as “María Moliner. Tendiendo palabras” (María Moliner. Weaving Words), “Elvira de Hidalgo. Donare la Divinità” (Elvira de Hidalgo. Giving Divinity), “Abriendo ventanas” (Opening Windows), “Íntimo y privado” (Intimate and Private), “Florián Rey. De luz y de sombra” (Florián Rey. Of Light and Shadow), “Eduardo Ducay. El hombre que siempre estaba allí” (Eduardo Ducay. The Man Who Was Always There), “Natividad Zaro. En voz alta” (Natividad Zaro. Out Loud), and “Raquel Meller. Insubisa y divina” (Raquel Meller. Unsubmissive and Divine). She has been the director and founder of the “La mirada tabú” (The Taboo Gaze) International Short Film Festival since 2012. She has also promoted, produced, programmed, and directed other festivals on diverse themes, such as animation (ANIMAINZÓN 2003-2023, FICIV 2024-2025); and film, new narratives, and digital formats (PROYECTAMEDIA and Pasarela Media Creativa, 2014-2017). International short films, FUTURE SHORTS (2014-2017); works created with mobile phones, MOVILÍZATE (Ibero-American Short Film Showcase, Spain-Yucatán, Mexico, 2013-2015). Curator of exhibitions such as “Women in Film: Archetypes and Myths,” “Through Portraiture,” “30 Years of Jamón, Jamón” (SEMINCI, 2021), and “The Urban Cinema of Bigas Luna” (SERRERÍA BELGA, Madrid, 2023). Creator of film and tourism routes, with projects such as the European “FilmSet” and the national “Monegros Route: Jamón, Jamón,” “Zaragoza City of Film,” and “Goya and Zaragoza, on Film.” Professor of film history, film analysis, documentary film, and experimental narratives.


CHECHU LEÓN


A graphic designer by profession, he has always been closely connected to the world of culture and film. In 1998, he and some friends founded the Aborigen collective, which includes Octubre Corto, the Arnedo Film Festival in La Rioja, which he directs and which has now celebrated its 27th edition. Over these 27 years, he has developed close relationships with many prominent figures in the film industry, including Rafael Azcona, Álex Angulo, Ángela Molina, Verónica Forqué, Aura Garrido, José Sacristán, Javier Cámara, Bigas Luna, and David Trueba, among others. He combines his role as festival director with publishing film books through Ediciones Aborigen, curating film exhibitions, and programming short films, participating in festivals worldwide in this capacity or as a jury member. At the festival, he met Diego Pérez, and together they directed "Ventura," his first short film. This was followed by "La mujer de mi vida" (The Woman of My Life), "Amor Dospuntocero" (Love 2.0), "El casco de Júpiter" (Jupiter's Helmet), "Vico Bergman," and the documentary "Subir al insti" (Going Up to High School). These short films have been screened at numerous national and international festivals. He is currently a member of the Spanish Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences.

MARTA ROMERO


Marta Romero Navarro (Barcelona 1980) screenwriter, director, actress for more than 25 years, graduate in Advertising as a creative copywriter and diploma in Marketing.
His series project “Vaciado”, which he co-wrote with Núria Dunjó, was one of the five selected for the Third Edition of La Residencia de Navarra 2024 and is currently in CIMA Impulsa 2025/26. His feature film “Mientras sea verano”, co-written with Marta Ambel, is first reserve for the 7th Edition of the Film Academy Residencies 2025/26 and first reserve for the Film Academy Summer Campus 2026.
Currently in pre-production for her first short film as co-director, “Ocells de bosc” (Forest Birds), with Javier Valenzuela, and co-written with Marta Herrero for the production company Ana Camacho of Pyewacket Films. Her audiovisual career as an actress includes films such as “Todo lo que no sé” (Everything I Don't Know) by Ana Lambarri, “A la cara” (To the Face) by Javier Marco, “Eres tú” (It's You) by Alauda Ruíz de Azúa (Netflix), “Ramona” by Andrea Bagney, and series such as “Los secretos de la Cortesana” (The Secrets of the Courtesan) (Netflix), “A muerte” (To Death) by Dani de la Orden, “La Agencia” (The Agency) Disney Plus, “La caja de arena” (The Sandbox) by Daniel Romero, “Por H o por B” (For H or for B) by Manuela Moreno, among others, as well as numerous short films, including 36 Goya Award shortlists in 2022, “Un día de mierda” (A Shitty Day), winner of the Best Performance award at the Aranjuez Film Festival, and “Perpetua Navidad Azul” (Perpetual Blue Christmas), which premiered at the 2026 Málaga Film Festival.
